I have spent the last 20 years in journalism, public relations, and marketing roles picking up a unique blend of skills and experience.

As a journalist, I learned to craft creative content under a variety of deadlines while working at daily, weekly, and monthly publications. I also developed a passion for telling compelling stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

As my journalism career progressed, I gained hundreds of hours of experience as a copy editor - first at a daily paper, and later as a managing editor at weekly and monthly publications. In my role as a managing editor, my copy editing duties evolved from editing for spelling, grammar, accuracy, and AP style to also editing with the goal of creating a consistent tone for the publication. Content curation was also a crucial part of my managing editor role as I modified submitted content and press releases to fit the tone established to best engage our audience.

In the latter portion of my journalism career, I was able to partner with clients on creating content marketing pieces for our publications. Working to help tell a client’s story in a way that would resonate with our readers made me realize I had a passion and a knack for marketing.

I switched gears in September of 2023 by accepting a role as PR & marketing director of a private university. This role has allowed me to oversee the marketing efforts of the university and tailor our messaging to reach a wide variety of people, from prospective students to alumni to the general public. Our messaging is distributed across a wide variety of channels, spanning digital advertising, social media, and print pieces.
